Je Suis Content d’Etre Cajun Big Bayou Bandits

Belgian Band : Big Bayou Bandits playing ” Je suis content d’être Cajun” , with a short live encore of a Jambalaya version.
The Jambalaya is dedicated to ‘Oldolds53 ‘ and ‘Kittielips’, who were uploading this song before.
The French title means : “I’m happy to be Cajun” , as the Cajun music is using both languages English and French ( sometimes together in one song).
You can learn more about history of Cajun and Zydeco music on the net .Or listen other Cajun songs on You Tube from this amazing Belgian Band.See also : ‘ The Mean Mountaineers ‘ for their famous Bluegrass and Hillbilly music.
Thank you for reading and listening.

A Cajun in Berlin

A Cajun veteran, reminiscing the close of World War II, once said :

« As I came into Berlin on July 2nd 1945, the city was dead and the giant apartment buildings were guttered by fire and looked like a cemetary of giants. It was raining, it could not have been more deplorable or more depressing. Berlin at that point was a city of zombies. The men were dead or in prisoner of war camps. There were only the aged and the very young males available. They were all females and they were shocked into utter silence. They were starving, that was clear. I saw such things as a horse dropping dead in the street and the women rushing out with pans and knives to butcher it on the spot to get some meat. There was no food. There were no lights, there was no power.”
An important aspect of
the American war effort
during WWII has not been told:
that of the role of French-speaking
Cajun soldiers.

This forgotten page of history is shown
in “Mon Cher Camarade”,
a documentary made by
award-winning filmmaker Pat Mire.

Belton Richard – The Cajun Stripper

This is Swamp Files Closeout Weekend. I have enough of this stuff to start a whole new channel and I WON’T!!! Anyways……….

Oil still gushing in the Gulf of Mexico folks, but you already knew dat! As of last week The New Orleans Saints have raised a half a million dollars through their Super Bowl Championship Ring charity raffle.

Team owner Tom Benson said, “We are pleased to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own an official New Orleans Saints Super Bowl XLIV ring. This opportunity will allow a fan to share in the greatest moment in our team’s rich history and the culmination of our place in the NFL record books as champions. And better yet, it allows the individuals, families and small businesses that are dealing with the fallout of the largest environmental catastrophe in the history of the United States to once again have the promise that people care about them and their futures.”

For more info on dat gorgeous ring darlins and how to make the coolest donation, head over to NBC Sports: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/29/saints-super-bowl-ring-raffle-raises-500000/

Johnnie Allan – You Are A Great Lover, But You Can’t Cook Cajun

Weekend 2 of the Swamp Files. We’re livin’ 24/7 down here right now with the BP oil spill. So for the next few days, I’m posting stuff recorded down in the bayous and swamps of Louisiana and dedicating it to all those folks who are out in the heat doing whatever they can to control this environmental nightmare that’s threatening their survival, culture and way of life. There’s many ways to contribute but the neatest way is to buy raffle tickets from The New Orleans Saints (go to their website) and if you’re the winner, you get dat ring. I want one so bad, I’ve already went over to China and sold a kidney to raise more money so I could by more tickets. WHO DAT!!!!!
